Senior Data Engineer/Data Architect Team Lead

We are looking for an experienced colleague to join our Business Intelligence & Data Engineering department and become a key part of our team. We are seeking someone who, in addition to designing and developing ETL processes and efficient data solutions, will also take on the role of a Data Architect - modeling data structures and providing strategic insight into the development of our data platform. You will collaborate with team members and business partners, participate in the development of data pipelines, ensure data quality, and contribute to the success of our data-driven projects.
Responsibilities
- Design the architecture of DWH/Lakehouse solutions in the Azure environment (Synapse, Fabric, Databricks)
- Create and maintain data models
- Contribute to the design of domain-oriented data layers and data products
- Develop and optimize ETL processes, especially using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, MS Fabric, and Azure Databricks
- Create documentation for data architecture, integration interfaces, and data models
- Work closely with the BI team and stakeholders on the design and implementation of data solutions
- Lead project team

Requirements
- University degree (preferably in a technical field)
- At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or data architecture
- Experience with designing relational and analytical database structures
- Advanced SQL skills (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Synapse SQL)
- Advanced knowledge of Python
- Understanding of Lakehouse architecture concepts
- Experience with distributed data processing
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric
- Ability to think systematically and design scalable, sustainable solutions
- Fluent Czech and English (written and spoken)

- Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI
- Experience leading project teams
- Familiarity with Data Governance, Data Catalogs, Data Lineage
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for data environments
